Run
Comments: I don't picture Hershey as being an especially hilly area, but it seemed like there were no flats on the race course (other than a few spots in the parking lot sections). It was fun running through the park a few times, and the course sections through the country club and out by milton hershey were nice. Definitely wasn't at my best after a few weeks of not doing so well on nutrition and not getting to run too much with a little tweak in my calf. Overall my time was still decent so I can't be too upset, but I can definitely feel a difference in my fitness just a month after the pumpkinman half iron. Also, lack of proper prep may have lead to the knee pain I got for the last 5 miles or so. What would you do differently?: Keep the fitness on track and get in a few more runs before the race. Also, focus more on running form, as it looked like I was doing a lot of upper body rotation, which may have lead in part to my knee pain. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed my medal and food at the finish line and met up with the family. Did some stretching, went back to the house to shower and eat, and then got on the load for the long drive back to Boston. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor nutrition and lack of consistency leading up to the race. Event comments: A well-organized race with some nice swag (shirt, medal, bags) and some interesting course sections. Also sounds like they made some nice logistical updates relative to the inaugural race, so looking forward to good things in the future. Last updated: 2011-06-17 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:45, bagel with PB. Left just after 6:30, and after a little bit of traffic coming in was parked around 7:10. Met up with sister's friends in the open parking lot area near the start line.
Ran a short distance 10 minutes before the race start, and stretched before getting in the pack near the front.
