Total Time = 2h 27m 10s
Overall Rank = 44/194
Age Group = M30-39
Age Group Rank = 7/27
Pre-race routine:

Ate a chocolate croissant and half a banana. Also drank water and Cytomax.
Event warmup:

Swam for 5-7 min
Swim
  • 27m 2s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

Did a really good job considering that I haven't swam once this season. Ok maybe once for 20 min a long time ago...
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!
Transition 1
  • 03m
Comments:

I fumbled a bit with my watch but I was trying to enjoy more than in other races that I've done.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 1h 08m 4s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.90 mile/hr
Comments:

I rode really well until the last three miles where I went really slow to get ready for the run. That was my goal (to have a good run) and I succeeded so I can't be upset about that.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I had a great race and PR'd!
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

I shouldn't 'untie' my shoes until I'm right by my transition spot. I saw a guy do that and I thought it was cool until I had to run with my shoe half way on my foot and then I realized it was a mistake.
What would you do differently?:

Wait until I get to my transition spot to take my shoes off.
Run
  • 45m 57s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 24s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran with a cap on and felt good from the start. I kept the same pace all the way through except the last 200m when some guy started sprinting past me and I couldn't help but try to catch him (I did) and sprint past him. He started in a earlier wave so I was 5 min in front of him anyway... Good pacing but I might have gone a little faster the last two miles. I was just scared I was going to have problems if I pushed too hard at the end. Maybe next time I can risk it and see if I can do 2:25!
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try to push the last two miles at a steady pace.
Post race
Warm down:

Ran a little bit, got a massage, ate some pasta with meat and salad and a burger afterwards

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training?

Event comments:

Love this race and will do it again next year!
