Total Time = 2h 28m 23s
Overall Rank = 382/430
Age Group = F35-39
Age Group Rank = 25/29
Pre-race routine:

Bagel & coffee, set up transition and wandered around with team mates :)
Event warmup:

I got in the water which was PERFECT temp! Warming up is definitely the way to go!!
Swim
  • 09m 11s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 05s / 100 yards
Comments:

I started out slow so I could get my bearings (unlike my nightmare at Patriot) then I eased into it but was still caught by lots of fast swimmers from behind so it got crowded quick. I did a great job drafting until my draftee slowed down (or maybe i was speeding up) so I had to pass him. I'm sure he was sick of me swatting his toes!
What would you do differently?:

Load up on confidence
Transition 1
  • 03m 7s
Comments:

had trouble with getting the top of my wetsuit off - i tried a different zipper/strap situation and it FAILED.
What would you do differently?:

NOTHING NEW ON RACE DAY!
Bike
  • 1h 20m 8s
  • 21 miles
  • 15.72 mile/hr
Comments:

lots of fun to start out bombing downhill - tried to push hard to get as much speed as possible because I knew the return would be slow. And sure enough i watched my average speed tick down....down....down as i climbed up ...up....up.
What would you do differently?:

the only way to get better at hills is to ride hills - A LOT
Transition 2
  • 02m 25s
Run
  • 53m 34s
  • 5 miles
  • 10m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

I'm not fast (as mentioned above) but this was a great run for me - i haven't had any distance workouts since mid-may and NOT ONE BRICK WORKOUT! I took it easy out of transition and was able to speed up to my happy 10+/-mm pace and finish strong.
What would you do differently?:

Brick workouts are a great thing!
Post race
Warm down:

Cold towel and gatorade and long wait for a massage.

Event comments:

The location was great - mother nature really is the one to thank on all accounts.... but seriously Endorfun does a great job - enough said!
