Pre-race routine:

Up early, couldn't sleep. Small breakfast and on the road. Got there early so took my time setting up.
Event warmup:

Normal, bike, run and swim half the course just before the race starts.

I went out in the second wave and ended up swimming up on a ton of people. No idea why they did the waves that way.
What would you do differently?:

Hugged the inside, it seemed more people were in the middle.

This included a 1/3 of a mile run from the swim to transition. I am usually in and out under a minute or so.

I dropped my chain coming out of transition. This set me back at least 1 minute. Just after that my only water bottle shot off my bike, which wasn't a huge deal as it was only 12 miles.
What would you do differently?:

Rather than scream at my chain, calmly put it back on and start riding.

Water and banana. Chilled out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to work on the bike a little more. Maybe stay inside for some hard trainer sessions.

Not a big race. Wish there was more people. The FIRM races seem to be losing the number of participants.
