Pre-race routine:

B race.. drove 7 hrs to get to Benton.. few hrs sleep.. not recommended
start time 9 am, woke 5:30, cliff bar start drinking water & perpetuem/gatorade, shower, shave, dress, pack, drive to course, check in, set up.
Event warmup:

started warming up alittle early, run 15 mins easy, stretch toilet, sip, bike 15 mins easy (lots of hills hard to stay easy) stretch, sip, chat, get chip, run 10 mins, stretch, sip, check gear one more time, sip, meeting, sip, wetsuit, swim 10 mins, wait... go!

tough ride, lots of STEEP rollers, not like anything in OK, first time on the disc and trispoke didn't help on the steeps but blazing on the flats, missed one of the turns and had to double back to get on course

the drive, lack of sleep, lack of hill training, inexperience with open water navigation,

Event comments:

first year for this even and a great time. would definitely do it again. great race to get stronger from ("that which does not kill you only makes you stronger") really good folks
