What would you do differently?: Concentrate on arm pull, etc... Transition 1
Comments: We didnt think it could get any worse than last year but it did! I was doing good, had everything and was taking off then realized I needed to put my gloves on before I got on the bike so I was balancing my bike and trying to pull my gloves on. Good got them on and took off again. Oh no! I forgot to zip my jacket. So stop again and fumble to zip it bcuz now I have my gloves on! How stupid can I get! (You dont have to answer that.) What would you do differently?: Practice... Maybe not wear a jacket or at least partially zip before I even put it on! Have to wear gloves so I will just have to figure that one out. Bike
Comments: Did okay. What would you do differently?: Push harder and dont worry about run afterwards. Transition 2
Comments: Dropped helmet, gloves, and jacket here. Was good idea. Run
Comments: No one passed me! What would you do differently?: Run faster! Post race
Warm down: Came in, got chip removed, got water, hugged family. Tom showed me swim splits. Stayed around transition area for awhile watching for Cyndy to come out. Got to see her take off. Went and checked in for volunteer duty at T2. Checked w/Rob to see how others were doing. Looked like they were doing good. What limited your ability to perform faster: Focus!!! Event comments: I rated this race as best bcuz the comraderie and support each participant receives is the best. It is a good fun atmosphere. Even sweating at T2. Post race activity is average about all there is watching others finish. However, Carol & Cathy set up a great area for our team to hangout and that gets above above average or good rating! Sun came out and that really helped too. I think Carol & Cathy arranged that too! Last updated: 2006-04-17 12:00 AM

Left the house by 7:15, this is already better than I normally do! Stopped for a short coffee on the way. Found everyone in the parking area, again already ahead of previous years!
Got everything but my bike into transition. Pumped up the tires.
Ran about a mile with Jennifer, then hopped on my bike and rode almost two miles to the AK Native Heritage Center and back. Then got my bike put into transition area and headed to the pool. Warmed up 300, got out to go pee, came back and found new lane, did some kicking and swimming. Then there was a quick particpant meeting as we waited for the start.
