Swim
Comments: Very tight start - lots of bumping for first ~8 minutes. went pretty smoothly after that Transition 1
Comments: quite a distance from beach to bike start Bike
Comments: felt pretty good; could have maybe pushed a tad harder What would you do differently?: focus more on continuous circle peddling Transition 2
Run
Comments: Took about a mile to adjust & feel good - had to slow down at one point to avoid side ache - mile one was slow (~7:45). Turned it on the last two miles - knew I was keeping a good pace, but didn't think it was around 6:10! Post race
Warm down: walk; ice bath; massage What limited your ability to perform faster: hardly slept all week - lots of reasons; timed out my pre-race gel, but right after taking it they delayed the race 15 minutes - threw that off. I also accidentally put my second gel at T2 instead of on the bike - so that was off too. Event comments: Fantastic for an inaugural race! Expo was great, good prizes, free ice bath and massage were great, post-race food/drink was great (including Muscle Milk). There were a couple rough spots on the bike course near the stadium - crossing RR tracks, etc. Overall great though! Last updated: 2011-06-25 12:00 AM
