Swim
Comments: Out of the water in 16:30. Much better than the last swim. I swam almost all freestyle and did not feel uncomfortable being in the open water like I did last time. I also was not the last one to finish in my wave. Could definitely do better but was much happier. What would you do differently?: Keep on training in the open water to get more comfortable. More technique work to improve stroke efficiency and speed. Transition 1
Comments: The jog/walk up the hill from the water was tough. Seemed like a really long way. Had remembered to put the number on my helmet before the race. Put on socks and helmet. Grabbed shoes and bike and ran to mount line. Felt like forever but it was better than last time. What would you do differently?: At some point in time I need to practice flying mounts. Bike
Comments: Had a good ride. The only thing that scared me a little was when my left calf started to knot up on me at about 8 miles. Just relaxed and stretched it a little on the pedals. Also took on some more powerade throughout the ride to try to replace the lost electrolytes. What would you do differently?: Borrowed my friends Trek 2.1 again. I need to get a road bike to train with so that I can get my legs used to the gears. I really love that bike. It seems fast and I know that if I trained on a road bike that I could go faster. Transition 2
Comments: Ran with bike shoes on from dismount into transition. My right calk started to knot up as I took my shoes off. Just relaxed for a second and stretched it out a little. What would you do differently?: Learn to do a flying dismount. Run
Comments: My calves were bothering me a little but never really got that about to cramp up feeling. They were just letting me know they were there. I was hot and tired. At about 2.5 miles I noticed that my shoes were squishing from being wet with sweat. What would you do differently?: I need to lose more weight. I am at 238 right now. I think about if I was 200 pounds and tried to tote a 35 pound plate while running how much it would slow me down. Post race
Warm down: Walk around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight. Event comments: I have really enjoyed the races in the Tri the Parks series. Last updated: 2011-06-26 12:00 AM

This one was 5 minutes from my house so I was able to stay at home and get a little breakfast. Ate a thin sliced wheat bagel with peanut butter and honey, cup of coffee.
Walk about 1/4 mile from where we had to park to check in. Nothing else really. Was going to swim about 100m but forgot my goggles in transition and had to go back to get them. This ate up my time to swim.
