5 hour energy, cliff bar, table spoon of chia seed before leaving home. Water on way to race.

Comments:

Very bad sighting on my part took a very wide turn around second buoy and ended up on shelf in that harbor about knee high.
What would you do differently?:

Sight better and take a tight turn around buoy #2 to avoid underwater shelf

Comments:

Mountain bike ride cable on front derailer came loose meaning i had no low or high gears. Hills were bad and overspun my gears on downhill.Did not carry water = bad idea. Overall a terrible ride.
What would you do differently?:

Inspect my pre race and make sure everything is adjusted. Carry water as i did not on the entire ride.

Legs were shot after bike leg, struggled to make it back to my rack. when i got their rack was completely full. although another competitor helped me make room.
What would you do differently?:

Finish bike leg earlier so I don't struggle with full bike rack.

Bike malfunction and general inexperiance led to bad performance.
