Pre-race routine:

found someplace/someone to stash car key. Had one package peanut butter crackers and one cran-razz clifbloks with 12 oz water.

Comments:

far amount of chop and strong current again this year and I was 6 min faster. Started sunny and then rained in middle of swim. got dropped by groups starting with second buoy
What would you do differently?:

train more

What limited your ability to perform faster:

early strong current tired me out, was trained to swim a mile in the pool(maybe) not 1+ mi in current and waves. really probably need to be strongly swimming 2 miles in pool to do well at this type/distance of race

Event comments:

Aloha salads as sponsor with samples post race was nice touch. The whole series is well run and things went off well in spite of large numbers of same day sign ups(180 of over 700 swimmers)
