Swim
Comments: Had difficulty spotting the first turn buoy because of sunlight directly in line of sight. After the turn buoy I felt really comfortable. I didn't get any breathing issues like I usually do. Didn't have to struggle with any errant swimmers either. I have to agree with other posters that the course must have been long last year as I picked up almost 2 1/2 minutes from last year. What would you do differently?: More pool time! Transition 1
Comments: Still need to work on my transitions. Had a problem getting my gel into my tri jersey pocket. What would you do differently?: Maybe swim with gel in pocket Bike
Comments: Very disappointed with my bike. I thought I was flying. Seemed like I only got passed by one in my AG and the other few were youngsters. Even though I picked up 6 minutes from last year I was still 2 to 3 minutes slower than my training rides. I think I might have lost some time by not passing groups of people at once. I didn't want to waste the energy. What would you do differently?: Be more aggresive and pass when I have to. Transition 2
Comments: Made a big mistake and got about 50 feet away from my bike and realized I didn't put my race belt on with my bib. Had to go back and get it. Probably lost at least 20 seconds because of this. What would you do differently?: Focus on what I have to do in transition. Run
Comments: The run is my nemesis. Since I developed asthma my running has never been the same. I lumbered along at my usual 10 minute pace. Found some strength at the end and mamaged to get to an 8:40 pace for the last 4/10's of a mile. had a few friends cheer me on with 3/10's to go and that really helped. Went from 10th in AG before the run to 16th after. What would you do differently?: MORE bricks! Post race
