Swim
Comments: Felt good, did 10 laps and had to run back to the beginning to do it again. Pool swim was chaotic at times getting congested with 4-6 swimmers trying to swim by each other. What would you do differently?: Overall I felt good and felt that I could have pushed it a bit more since my swimming fitness has dramatically improved but wanted to pace myself good. Transition 1
Comments: It was probably about 50 yards from when I got out of the pool and at my transition area. Took some water in and took off my compression sleveless and quickly put on my dri fit nike tshirt and also put my tri shoes on. Put my helmet and my sunglasses on and i was on the go. What would you do differently?: Learn to get on my bike with my shoes clipped in already. Bike
Comments: First race with my new clip on aero bars and after a true bike fit. Definitely paid off as well as my continuous training with the spinervals dvd. Felt good throughout and at times felt I thought I may be pushing too hard but it was just right. Made my fastest What would you do differently?: More time on saddle Transition 2
Comments: Ran back to transition with my tri shoes on and quickly put on my socks and running shoes (have yanks laces). Put my hat on and I was on the go. What would you do differently?: learn to dismount with shoes still on pedals Run
Comments: Felt really slow b/c of the heat. But the run has always been my weakness, but I'm glad i ran without stopping to walk. Hydrated and poured water over my heat to keep cool at each water stop. What would you do differently?: Run more and continue to improve my fitness level Post race
Warm down: Nothing really, greeted my g/f and family members and walked over to my transition area to wrap up my belongings and headed for breakfast with the family. What limited your ability to perform faster: Current fitness level, need to continue to improve on it. Event comments: Overall, I was pleased with my swim and really impressed with my bike split. As hot as it was during the race, I felt I stayed well hydrated throughout the race. I did the mini sprint of this race back in February and my bike time for 9 miles was 42 minutes. My fitness level has improved and I need to continue to run more to be able to get my run times down. Now time to continue to prepare for the Mountain Man sprint tri on the 17th! Age Group Rank = 4/5
Got up around 3:45am, 15 minutes before my alarm went off. Drank 24oz of water. Did my usual bowel movement. Tripled checked all my equipment and gear and headed off to the event with my g/f leaving at 4:50am. Got there and several people were already there and transition area nearly full. Found a gap near the middle and set up. Sat around and continued to hydrate and ate my cliff bar at 5:30am.
Stretched throughout the morning while waiting for the Maxi sprint tri to begin which was following the kids sprint and the mini sprint. Didn't get in the pool until around 7:30am.
