What would you do differently?: Push harder... it's just a sprint. Pain is temporary. :) Transition 2
Run
Comments: No mile markers, so it was a little tough to gauge pace. What would you do differently?: Push harder. Post race
Event comments: Completely awesome weekend. I did the Sprint and my wife did the 1/2 Iron. The race organizers and volunteers did an amazing job. The venue was beautiful and the weather was perfect. Some of the things that made this race stand apart: - While watching T1 one of the volunteers was hovering around one of the bikes. As the athlete approached the volunteer mentioned that during the swim they here a tire pop in the transition area. They felt all the tires, found the culprit, took the wheel to the on-site bike support (Papa-Wheelies) and they fixed the flat and got the wheel back on the bike - all before this guy made it out of the water! Now that's service! - My wife is usually in one of the last waves to start the day, and usually by the time she gets to the run, most of the aid stations have run out of gel, or water, or sports drink - or all 3. Not at this race. Up until the very last runner the aid stations on the run were fully stocked. Last updated: 2011-06-30 12:00 AM
