Run
Comments: Due to lack of training from ITBS and only starting to recover in the last 2 weeks, I planned on a lot of walk breaks. My goal was just to survive. Legs a little sore from the 2:23 half the day before, but not too bad. I bought 100% knee sleeve from the expo and wore it both days, and I think it really helped with the ITBS. I wanted to walk all waterstops, bought first one wasn't until into mile #2 so I didn't walk until then. I walked here and there besides the waterstops, but never more than .10 mile each mile. Mile 5, 10, 15, 20 I took a Cliff Shot Roc (2g protein). At Miles 10, 20, and finish I took Tylenol. After Mile 10, I biofreezed legs around every other medical tent. I took powerade every water stop. I took another gel or 2 they handed out, I forget when, but drank water following. What would you do differently?: Nothing! Post race
Warm down: walked to car, sticked legs What limited your ability to perform faster: ITBS and lack of training from getting it in October! Event comments: TONS of volunteers. Great race, as usual! Woke 2:45. Had coffee, banana, aquaphor'd all of feet, lats where triceps rub, and between the legs. Left Bonnet Creek at 3:30. No traffic on way to EPCOT. Sticked legs when got out of car. Wore trashbag on way to corale. Took second dump in portopots behind bag check.
Walked to corral, stretched, walked to woods to pee, stretched a litle more. Took a powerbar gel with caffeine 5 min before start. Took 1 tylenol before start.
