Swim
Comments: There was a pretty large gap between the first wave & the top 2nd wave swimmers. I happen to be there, so drafting wasn't an option, most of the time no one was in front of me. I put on my wetsuit at the last minute, I hadn't planned on swimming with it. The good news was I learned that I need to practice more in my wetsuit before the HIM. My shoulders were more restricted then I had expected. Also, I had a hard time getting at my wetsuit strap on the way out of the water. Transition 1
Comments: It's a hard jump on the bike as the line you can get on is headed uphill. I had a hard time clipping in for whatever reason, much more so than last year. Bike
Transition 2
Comments: This felt really slow. I was worried I would forget my garmin on the bike. The transition was a mess by the time I got back. What would you do differently?: Slip on laces are a must! Run
Comments: The hill on this run is not pleasant, good news is one you hit the top it is all downhill. I walked 2x on the uphill for 5-7 seconds each. Not what I wanted to do, but I needed to catch my breath. Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: Conditioning Event comments: This is a small local race that improves every year. They do a great job with traffic control and participant safety. The downfalls are the run from the water to T-1 is a stone dust path, and the transition area is a gravel lot. I will race this next year, it was nice to have them upgrade the timing so we could get accurate T times. Last updated: 2011-07-08 12:00 AM
