Swim
Comments: For some reason I kept taking really wide turns, and often found myself swimming alone instead of drafting how I should have been. The time included about a 1/4 mile run to the transition area. Transition 1
Comments: Didn't put socks on in T1 this time. Although I messed around for a while trying to get a gel in my pocket (stupid--just tape it to the bike next time). And getting my garmin on my wrist. What would you do differently?: Tape gel to bike. Put garmin on bike and just put it on my wrist while riding. Bike
Comments: Not too many people passed me. But I guess most of the people in my age group I was trying to beat were just already ahead of me and a lot faster on the bike. What would you do differently?: Train more on the bike. I'm doing a hard hilly ride (~1500ft elevation gain) of 15 miles with Finch on Saturday. Transition 2
Comments: Socks were rolled this time. The transition line was very far away from the actual transition area so I think my time would've been better. Run
Comments: This run team is a direct correlation to how little I have been running. I sprinted the last 1/4 mile against a 30 year old. He kept about two feet ahead of me the whole way. I really wanted to pass him but my left hamstring cramped pretty bad towards the end. What would you do differently?: I'm thinking about starting a half mary plan for the Rock N Roll half in Savannah in November and using that as my running training for my tris for the rest of the season. Post race
Warm down: Found some shade. Stretched my hamstrings. Sweated my butt off! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Plain and simple. Event comments: The transition area lines were really far. Last updated: 2011-07-10 12:00 AM

Ate some oatmeal 2 hours before the race with raisins and chocolate chips. Drank some Fast Twitch 45 minutes before race start.
Some light stretching, and about 200m warm-up swim. The water was something like 88 degrees. Blah.
