Swim
Comments: I felt ok on the swim, but frequently was "lost in thought" or was off course. I swam 3 minutes slower than last year. People told me that there was a current, but I'm not sure I believe that. What would you do differently?: Swim harder...I think I thought it would be good if I didn't push too hard. Result, poor swim time. Transition 1
Comments: Better T time than in the previous year and in other races. Could still speed up, but ok. This is the fastest transition I've had when using a wet suit. However, after looking, it is significantly slower than the mid-point people. Bike
Comments: I had something going on with my gears. Early on, I couldn't get my bike to downshift (or up shift - not sure which is which). I finally switched to my big gear, and I was fine. I feel like I finally ate/drank the right amount. What would you do differently?: I think I would push a little harder - I'm constantly worried about cramping on the run, and had no issues there. Transition 2
Comments: 30 seconds faster than last year's Lobsterman, and faster than several of my other times. However, it was much slower than the middle of the pack people. What would you do differently?: Not sure, maybe pull laces so i don't have to lace my shoes. Run
Comments: I felt fine. A little tired, but nothing hurt, but I couldn't speed myself up. The hills wore me out, and that was my excuse. Post race
Warm down: None - had kids and was camping. Had a few beers then got the kids ready for their tri the next day. Event comments: The race is in a beautiful spot, and it is well organized. The food afterwards could be better, but that is about it. I plan to do it again next year. Last updated: 2011-07-11 12:00 AM
