Comments: Holy Crap! Where do I begin? I started out too fast, with too high a HR. I didn't drink enough. But overall I was not in adequate cycling condition. What would you do differently?: Ride more. Drink more Transition 2

Comments: I had no gas from the beginning. I had to walk three times and still couldn't get my HR to decrease. What would you do differently?: Ride my bike more. Drink more on the bike. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Without a doubt, the largest impediment to my performance was my lack of cycling fitness. Second would be my water intake. I consumed 64 ox of water in the 8 hours that proceeded the finish of the race but did not pee until 8 hours post race finish; and that was a pathetic, bright yellow effort.
