Swim
Comments: Swim was faster that normal for me. The tide was coming in so I think that allowed me to swim faster down the back stretch. What would you do differently?: Train for the swim more. Transition 1
Comments: Transition went well. I'd like to cut about 10 seconds off next time What would you do differently?: Run harder to and from my bike in the transition area. Bike
Comments: I need to push harder on the bike. I feel like I should be biking faster considering that I end up in 29th place for the whole race. There was a head wind on 1/2 of the loop. What would you do differently?: Push harder on the bike. This will require me to train harder and differently on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, especially getting the running shoes on. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Good run. There was a head wind on the way out, but on the way back it was nice to have a tail wind. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Pleased with my run pace. I wanted to be under 6:40 and I was. Post race
Warm down: Nothing. Walked around and waited for Ralph. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: I enjoyed this race. I was asked to fill in two days before the race, after Frank got hurt, and I am glad I did. Great venue, great brunch afterward. I will definitely do this race next year. Woke at 5am. Had oatmeal with chocolate chips, a banana, and sipped on some gatorade. Left for the race at 5:35. Arrived at race site at 6:30. Met up with Frank and he got me registered. Setup transition area and was ready to go by 7. Checked the race map and transition area entries and exits to kill time.
No warmup. Some light stretching.
