Run
Comments: Within 5' of the start, the rain started misting down. I quickly covered the stroller to keep the little one dry, and just kept going. Couldn't do much about it then. About the 1-1.5mi mark, the rain really started coming down and there was nothing to do but accept it. So I did. I knew going in that I had no intention of PR'ing the race and was just there for fun, so I kept it easy. Ran with Chris and Jason at the start, Jason dropped off (recaught me at 2.75) and Chris took off at 2mi. Great costumes, lots of chatting with other runners and enjoying the atmosphere. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Great time Post race
Warm down: Quickly stood under the business front awnings to keep the little one dry (which she was dry even during the race). Eventually it slacked off and went back out to get some beverages (Mello Yellow b/c the beer line was WAY TOO LONG). Chatted with other runners and enjoyed the costumes, tunes, and the afternoon. What limited your ability to perform faster: The 9mi run that morning and the stroller. But it was worthit. Event comments: Costume party afterwards, best retro running outfits during, and just a general good time Last updated: 2011-07-13 12:00 AM

Race Start was 6pm.
Previously that day I went for a 9mi run in preparation for my upcoming marathon. Didn't put too much stock in this as a race, but more for fun.
Arrived at 530 and milled with the crowd. Fastened the little girl in the stroller (13mo) and had her situated to go for her first stroller race.
Moved to the back of the field to avoid running over ankles and becoming an obstacle.
Clouds showed up about the time we lined up for the race.
