Swim
Comments: Not a bad swim overall for me. Was able to settle in nicely and focus on maintaining a smooth stroke. Stayed away from the masses which helped me relax but prohibited me from drafting. Not thrilled with swim time but it is reflective of the amount of swim training I have done so far this yr. What would you do differently?: Train more Transition 1
Comments: T1 consisted of .2 mi run uphill from swim exit to transition area. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: After seeing swim time, I new I had to hammer the bike as much as I could. A little bit of hurt the entire time, and a lot of hurt during some of the more difficult sections but it paid off. Very pleased with the result as I ended up passing almost everybody, save 5 men and the lead woman. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Wife raced day before in VT and it had been long weekend for our 2 girls, so we decided they would all stay home while I raced. Unexpectedly saw my wife and 2 girls cheering for me outside T2 which gave me a huge lift. Run
Comments: Prior to seeing my wife and 2 girls at T2, I was content with my position in the race. Once I saw them I decided to try and do something special and run as hard as I possibly could. It was a hard run, but it paid off and I was able to pass all but the race winner. For first time in my race career, I had a bike escort for last 2 miles. Amazing! Best part of race was seeing my wife and 2 girls in finishing shoot. They were volunteering and handing out water and medals. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Stretch and massage. What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim Event comments: Great race, well organized, with lots of support. Last updated: 2011-07-14 12:00 AM
