Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:30 a.m., drank coffee and ate small bowl of oatmeal with blueberries. Arrived at course around 6:45, set up then watched heats before me.

None other than some light stretching and dynamic warmup.

almost 9 am by the time i began running and the humidity made it feel like I was breathing thru a wet washcloth. ended up walking at least half every hill which affected time (obviously). I think I would have been fine if course was flat. On the upside, I was only passed by a couple of people and managed to pass several myself.
What would you do differently?:

I need to run more hills more often.

No first aid tent (buddy sprained his ankle while on the run course and had to search high and low for a bag with ice) and nothing to eat afterward. But I look forward to next year already.

Course: two 4.5 mile laps over fairly hilly course with one long ascent. according to cateye, averaged 18 mph which is OK given terrain. rode roadbike rather than tri bike due to hills. i simply climb better on it and there wasn't enough flat ground to make much of a difference in the sprints between the two bikes.
