Pre-race routine:

Got up early. Ate a bowl of cereal. relaxed alittle. Did my usual breathing routine. 15 mins of deep yoga breathing.. followed by some stretching..

rub vicks vapor rub on my chest (i have a cold)
Event warmup:

Got to site.. dropped dry bag. Did a half mile warm-up.. tried staying loose.. little cold out..

Comments:

Given that i was still sick with cold.. i can really complain about my performance today. i ran the entire race, kept a steady pace. I picked up paces at 5 mile make. The headwind was a mother in this race. winds were blowing 20-25 mph.

last year i PR'd 55:07 then to run a 1:02, is kinda depressing.. Next year.. i will PR again.. 53 or better.. im determined to make it happen
What would you do differently?:

train harder. don't get sick
Post race
Warm down:

walked around.. drink tons of water.. didn't help much because it downpoured as i was waiting for friends to finish

What limited your ability to perform faster:

i was ill and just coming out of a rut for the year..

I finished it.. that was the point of this race.

Event comments:

There is usually a drink station at the 2 mile mark.. Wasnt there.. so it really sucked.. First drink station was around the 3.5 - 4 mile mark.
