Transition set up. Chip, hydrate hydrate hydrate....excessive heat warning for the day....again

short jog and just standing around pretty much heated me up enough.

Good first run. Felt good the whole time, didnt push overly hard, just a steady pace

Huge lake from the firetruck had pooled up right before transition....easily pedal deep had to slow way down....not cool

Heat was picking up by now...pretty damn hot. I wanted my pace to be closer to what I ran the first 5k in. Didn't happen today, and was actually barely faster than last years second 5k.
What would you do differently?:

I would have liked to push harder, but I don't know if that was possible.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the heat was a big factor this year.

Event comments:

I usually hate duathlons, but I suprised myself this year and did better than expected, especially considering the heat. Really need to keep working on the running off the bike.
