Swim
Comments: The swim was quite a bit slower than I thought it was going to be. I thought the Navitgations was good. My Breathing was good and my Stroke Rate was good. I actually was faster than 6 other swimmers. Iwas 125 of 131 swimmers this time. What would you do differently?: I need to find a way to get faster. I think I need to workout more without the fins. More Pull Bouy work. Transition 1
Comments: I pulled the cap and goggles into my left arm and unzipped my suit as I was running to T1. I did sit down because i was having difficulties getting the Wet Suit off. I also ran in my shows to the Bike Mount line. What would you do differently?: I need to work on getting out of the Wetsuit faster. Bike
Comments: I was able to ride a strong bike leg. I was slightly faster than the last time I did this course two months ago. What would you do differently?: I was 63 out of 129 averaging just under 21 miles an hour. Easily my fastest leg. I will continue to work as I have. I think I am going to drop my rides to two a week with one of them being a longer ride. Transition 2
Comments: Much better transistion than T1. Other than leaving my bike shoes on the bike it was a good transition. What would you do differently?: As my times drop everywhere else I can work on leaving my shoes on the bike for the entire ride. I also sit down about half the time if I am having issues getting my foot gear on. Run
Comments: I was able get my legs under in about a mile. At about every point I thought I would be able to run faster but just couldn't. I broke the run into 3 two mile splits. The first was 18:13, the 2nd was 18:24 and finally 18:39. I was able to hold off runners from passing me in the last 3 miles. What would you do differently?: Keep working on my speed. Slowly the times will drop. I also need to add some brick workouts. Post race
Warm down: Nothing really. I just grabbed some water and a Muscle Milk then looked for some shade. What limited your ability to perform faster: This my first Olympic distance race in years. The bike and run time is compariable to the Olympic Duathlon I did two months ago. I plan to tran intelligently to get faster. Event comments: 90. I picked up a Gatorade and a Breakfast Burrito on my way to the race.
I did a light warmup swim just trying to get accusted to the water. Thankfully it was about 70 degrees.
