Swim
Comments: I definitely thought I was much faster but this will include getting out of the water and running to TA. Also I know there was a problem with timing the transitions due to mechanical failure so not sure if some was added to the swim What would you do differently?: At one point when I had 2 laps to go the counter in the lane next to mine started shouting "your done" to her person. I wasn't sure who she was yelling at so I did stop and ask...probably cost 10 sec Transition 1
Comments: Again there was some trouble timing this, so I am using my usual T! time. No issues of any kind. Did fumble a bit with socks. What would you do differently?: Only annoying part here was that a late arrival decided to wedge his/her bike in between my spot (there was plenty of room farther in, but I was close to the end). In the process all of my carefully laid out stuff got spread all over. Didn't really slow me down much, but I lost my gel that was taped on my bike and didn't notice until on course. Bike
Comments: I subtracted some time here to for T1 and T2 to match my bike computer. I went hard on the course and worked the entire time. Was missing my gel that I take at 1/2 way mark and only had water on the bike. I definitely did the best I could on this course. Overall I was pleased with my pace and with a few additions to the bike and some more practice hope to get the speedup even more. What would you do differently?: Have some gel on bike. Get my clip in shoes and aero bars coming this week! Transition 2
Comments: Even though I did not change my shoes I took a little extra time here to have 1/2 a gel and some gatorade since I had nothing but some water on the bike What would you do differently?: Usually I rush a bit more, but wanted to make sure I had some calories on this very hot day Run
Comments: Again I strggled with the run off the bike. It was very hot and humid and it took awhile to get my breathing down especially after working so hard on the bike. I walked intervals the first mile and dumped water on my head at every station. However at the halfway point I felt pretty good and had a strong finish. I definitely should have pushed harder on the run (again!). So many people walking and nobody to chase made the run psychologically difficult for me, but I could have done much better What would you do differently?: Run more and run harder Post race
Warm down: I felt great after this race unlike South Carrol where I wanted to die! I know it was an easier course, but the weather was a bit challenging. I just walked around and drank some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Maybe the heat made me slower, but I was lucky to have an earlier start time. My friend was 2 hours behind me and it was really HOT by then. I just need to train more bricks and learn how to run better/faster. I can get some stuff for the bike as well so that hopefully I won't have to hammer that hard to get 17mph average Event comments: This is a great race for a first timer. The course is pretty easy and it is well run. I would definitely consider doing it again next year. Last updated: 2011-07-25 12:00 AM

Up at 4am Ate 1/2 yogurt and PB & J on whole wheaat toast on the way to the race. POne cup of coffee and some gatorade as I waited to check in and get marked. Wanted to be sure and NOT over hydrate this race since I had problems with too many fluids last time.
Not much mostly just walking around and getting ready
