Swim
Comments: swim was a bit long. I've been slacking the past month and felt it but short enough swim to fake my way through. Tried to catch feet the best I could and could see the leaders up ahead but was sort of in no mans land. Just did what I could without blowing myself up. Transition 1
Comments: 37/344 I had to kneel down to get the wetsuit off and my bike shoes on....I'm not good at sprint transitions but I guess this wasn't as bad as it felt at the time. Bike
Comments: watts were down a bit. rode hard but conservative and never really took it too far into the red. probably should have went a bit harder. went back and forth with a couple of guys of the way. Transition 2
Comments: 32/344 Run
Comments: I set a pace and tried to hold it. Got passed by 5 guys I think...2 from my AG. Run has been getting better slowly but surely so once I get that cleaned up I think I could be more of a threat at these local sprints. It's frustrating to be fast on the bike though because all you do is get passed and try to minimize the damage on the run...It'd be more fun to be fast running and picking people off the entire way I'd assume. Eh, happy with this one anyway. 6:43 6:45 6:50 Post race
Event comments: Overall, good race considering I did the New Haven 20K Monday and haven't been training the swim and bike much. It was fun to get out there and sort of reinvigorated me. After the marathon I will be more amped up to hit those bike and swim intervals this winter I think. Last updated: 2011-07-28 12:00 AM
