Run
Comments: My plan was to start off slow, very slow and just enjoy the day. And that is exactly what I did! I did IMLOU seven weeks ago and I had a tougher time recovering from that race than I had expected. So, I just went out and ran at a pace that my body could handle and enjoyed every minute of it! It was a perfect day for a Marathon. A little cool, but not too cold, overcast, but no rain. A little windy in spots, but not too bad. The sun even came out for awhile toward the end. I stayed very consistant with my pace, 2:27 first half/2:30 second half. I was slow, but ran the entire time. My heel bursitis bothered me most of the time, but other than that I felt really good. This was my 10th Marathon (8 stand alone's & 2 IM's) and my 3rd time running Columbus. What would you do differently?: Nothing! Post race
Warm down: My husband, who ran a 3:13, waited for me to finish and we walked back to the hotel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Doing a Full Ironman 7 weeks ago. Event comments: Columbus is a great Marathon, will definately participate again. Last updated: 2011-07-29 12:00 AM
