Pre-race routine:

woke up around 4:15 and had a cup of coffee and my usual peanut butter and banana on 1 piece of bread. just a sip of water so I wouldn't have any unplanned pee breaks on the run. Packed the crew into the car and headed to the race.
Event warmup:

just a little light stretching and a port-a-potty visit. Gave away my throw away gloves to someone who was cold and worrying about not having gloves while waiting in the bathroom line.

Comments:

miles 23, 24, and 25 had to slow down to 10 something miles while hitting some hills and the bridge we had to run over. Walked 2 aid stations but picked it up at mile 25 and finished the last mile at a 9:30 pace according to my garmin. Overall a great race and this was my first marathon so I was really happy with the outcome.
Post race
Warm down:

water, powerade, coca-cola and kept walking around and did some stretching. I also ate some good food that they had: fried fish, jambalaya.

Event comments:

Very happy with the race and happy I completed my first marathon. I was so excited that several of my friends who are doing IMFL with me showed up along with my wife and youngest daughter to cheer me on. This made a huge difference and they met me out on the course several times. What a huge boost everytime I saw them.
