Run
Comments: Strong run...figured I was in about 5-6th coming into transition? What would you do differently?: nothing, stopped for water at 1 mile, brief walk Transition 1
Comments: didn't seem like it was this slow! oh yeah...went to wrong rack, and looked at a bike and went "what happened to my seat (ripped seat). Oops, wrong Kestrel (thank goodness...mine is nicer!) went back two racks to mine. Guess I was running too fast down the lane to my bike! What would you do differently?: go to the right bike first. Bike
Comments: road really hard, kept concentrating on "am I going as hard as I can" and also pulling up on pedals instead of just jamming down. Passed a couple of girls, passed by one in the Du and one in the Oly. that started before me. Couldn't catch the girl who passed me. Strong ride! What would you do differently?: work on not braking as much in turns...I did a little better this time than last few races, but with so many turn in this race, I have to get my cornering/turns down better before next year! Transition 2
Comments: stopped to take a few gulps of Gatorade What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: stopped for two water stations. kept concentrating on running strong. Passed one guy in the first mile (he says "im a biker" ) nice guy...saw him afer race. saw the girl who passed me on the bike that I couldn't catch. stopped for water at just before mile 2, then caught her after that. (she did not stop). Said to her, come on now, run with me. I said "we aren't in the same age group so we can run together" she picked up her pace stayed with e for a couple minutes, till I asked "do you know where we are overall?". she said 3 and 4. I said "see ya, gotta hit it" and I cruised away!! Beat her by a lot! What would you do differently?: not encourage her to stay with me. I need to concentrate on where I am overall, not just age group! Post race
Warm down: huffing and puffing at the finish...guy taking my chip said I was 3rd overall!! Yeah baby!! Found Steve (who I heard yell at me coming into T2) where he was volunteering. (also heard/saw him coming out of T1) What limited your ability to perform faster: only lack of training this season...that said, VERY happy with this race! Event comments: except for awards...no ceremony...just went to tent and told them your name. My award for 3rd OA female was glass and hat. (steve got the same for volunteering!) Great race...will definitely do next year, such a cool downtown Indy race! (father in law lives near by!) Last updated: 2011-08-02 12:00 AM
