Swim
Comments: Started off in the middle of the pack, was kicked a few times and bumped into a few poeple. What would you do differently?: Start more towads the outside, an use the current instead of going against it. Transition 1
Comments: Got out to the water and jogged the 75 yard to the transition area. Sat down to wipe my feet and put on my bike shoes. Stood up and put on my shirt, which got stuck on my back. ended up unzipping it entirely to get it on. put on my sunglasses, helmet, grabbed a gel pack and my bike and ran out of transition area. Got to the mount line and got onto my bike. I hadn't practiced mounting before, so I stopped and got onto my bike like I was just going for a training ride. What would you do differently?: Would swim with my shirt, or have it unzipped to start. Practice mounting my bike while on the run, maybe even have my shoes attached to the bike to start. Bike
Comments: I have not invested into a computer for my bike, so I didn't realize I was going so slow, but I am not sure I could have gone much faster because I felt a littel winded. What would you do differently?: Practice longer distances and try to find some hills to practice on. Invest into a computer that atleast gives me time and distance, perferably have cadence to. Transition 2
Comments: Didn't practice the dismounting of my bike so I just stopped and got off my bike. I am sure this wasted several seconds. What would you do differently?: Practice dismounting while bike is moving. Run
Comments: Legs felt like lead leaving the transition area, but started to feel normal after the half mile in. The pace was slower than I wanted or expected. I lost my gel while on the run. What would you do differently?: Should have taken while leaving the transition area, so I wouldn't have to worry about it on the course. Do some additional brick workouts because I only did 1 brick work out before today Post race
Event comments: I liked the swim course, was easy to follow and becuase it was in the back bay the ways were minimal especially since the ocean side of the island was red flag conditions. The bike course was good, well marked, cops were stopping cars at intersections giving racers the right of way. I didn't like the run course becuase it was around the back of the airport runway with no shade. There were sections of grass some gravel, and even pavement, but we well marked. After party was not the worse I have been to. Racers were given on hotdog and two free beers. Bananas were cut in half covered with plastic and had a bunch of flies buzzing around. some pasties and drinks around. Good looking race medal. Last updated: 2011-08-03 12:00 AM

Woke up early, ate some bananas and drank some water. Grabbed my bag I packed the night before and my bike Arrived at the transition area, laid out my gear and went and got my chip and marked.
Walked around to see the course layout drank some more water and did some stretches. Tested the water temperature and currents with a short swim.
