Comments: The first part of the run was a little tiring with the hills but I really didn't start feeling bad until the last few miles. My legs were giving out and my knees started to hurt. What would you do differently?: Try to run a faster pace. I think the longer I'm out there the more pounding my legs take. Post race
Warm down: When we crossed the finish line I thought I was going to pass out. I was really exhausted and my wife thought we should walk around, but I couldn't stand any longer from the pain in my knees. What limited your ability to perform faster: I ran with my wife today and she is stronger on the flats and I'm stronger on the hills. We stayed together the whole time and I think that hurt the both of us. Event comments: I really like this race and I might do it again this year. I want to do a half iron this year, so I'll have to see where this falls in the schedule. We weren't able to do the post race activities because my son had a soccer game we had to get to. Walked around with Rosa and her brothers for awhile. It was cold and we just tried to walk around to stay warm.
None. I should have thought about doing a slight jog, but I was nervous and didn't want to waste any energy.
