Pre-race routine:

woke up, got dressed, drank nothing (like an idiot) and eat nothing. Grabbed an E-gel for emergencys.
Event warmup:

ran 1.5 miles to start line. I was feeling pretty confident prior to the race....thinking a 45 minute time was going to happen

Comments:

Okay, so I did an Ironman the Sunday prior to this race. I had felt great all week and thought I was going to have a good 10k time (at least for me). My first mile was in 7 minutes and I thought, wow I can do this....then the side stich occured, than my mind got the better of me. I felt so bad after mile 2, that when a guy offered me a beer, I said yes. I figured maybe my side stich would go away. It did and I was able to run the rest of the way to the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Not run a race a week after an Ironman. What was I thinking? Obviously your mind is high off of the long race, and your muscels are totally fatigued. That said, I probably should have started off slower so that my miles were closer in time.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked to the beer station and had another beer...gotta love New Orleans.

Event comments:

I love the CCC. So many people come out to support the race, and it is neat having all the International athletes at the same race as the locals.
