Swim
Comments: The start of the swim was a melee, and finally started to thin out some after rounding the first buoy. I thougth I was doing a pretty good job, felt I was swimming hard enough. I swam the last length and go to the end of the pool and once again came up under the diving board, so had to move over to get out, there were 2 other ladies trying to get out at the same place, so had to wait for them to get out before I could What would you do differently?: Next year, I am starting in the front row, I am a good enough swimmer to start there. Also, next year, I need to practice getting out of the pool on the deep end, and also I will sight better so I don't come up under the diving board again. I am a better swimmer than my time reflected Transition 1
Comments: I had a hard time getting my shirt on after getting out of the pool, also, had a hard time getting clipped in. Other than that, T1 went well. No socks, and used toe warmers on my shoes What would you do differently?: Figure out a different shirt situation. It was still cold enough out I thought I needed to have an extra layer on. Bike
Comments: After I finally got clipped in, I tried to hit the out segment of the bike hard, I knew I needed to take advantage of the tail wind and push hard. I passed many people on the way out, and hit a max speed of 28.6 mph. hit the Canyon Creek exit, made the turn around and headed into the wind. Still managed to pass a few people on the way back, but also got passed by 2 guys and a woman that I never could catch back up to. Not too bad a head wind, tried to push to get under 49:00. What would you do differently?: Still need to work on bike strength, more hill training and pushing the tempo. Transition 2
Comments: Had a great T-2, got bike shoes and gloves, helmet off, got running shoes on and grabbed visor and race belt. Kept shirt on as I didn't want to take the time to take it off, and it was still coolish. What would you do differently?: Nothing, everything went great. Run
Comments: Knew I had to push hard to make my goal, felt pretty good coming off the bike, was able to get legs worked out and breathing under control, kept pushing and passed several people, and was never passed. Laurie Ciani met me at the 27th Street bridge, with about 2 miles to go, and paced me on the bike, tried to push, still felt good, was able to finish strong with nothing left in tank. I had the fastest run and T 2 in my age group What would you do differently?: Not sure I can improve much more on the run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: The swim was the only part that I didn't execute as planned. I am starting my swim lessons with Tesia tonight! Event comments: Great race, with great volunteers, well run! Last updated: 2011-08-08 12:00 AM

My wave went in at 6:55, so got up about 4:30, showered, ate a bagel with peanut butter, 2 cups of coffee and ate a banana
Did a little bit of swimming to get loosened up
