Swim
Comments: Great swim! I feel like this is getting better for me again. Always my strong suit but neglected in the past couple of years. Non wetsuit swims are great for me because my swim strength really shines through. Had a few minor issues coming around the first bouy, got punched in the mouth, but hey rubbin's racin and it only gets me more jacked up. I love the full contact of the front of the swim pack. Last 100m I started actually feeling stronger and was able to overtake a few more folks. One of my better swims all in all. What would you do differently?: push the middle 200m a little harder, catch a few more toes for drafting. Transition 1
Comments: had a bit of an issue getting my feet into the first shoe but not bad. The practice every time I ride is paying off. One of my faster T1's. It helps when there's no wetsuit to peel off. What would you do differently?: Not much to do differently, just push the pace a little more I guess. Bike
Comments: good ride for me. Pushed the hills maybe a little hard but a good ride non the less. What would you do differently?: ride faster! I need to get my avg speed up a couple of miles an hour if I want to start seeing podiums. Transition 2
Comments: 28 seconds!!! this is by far my best ever t2 transition. What would you do differently?: nothing! well try and cut another second off to tie Hagerman! Run
Comments: Ok, I know my run is bad but this was pathetic! I was a ball of cramps coming out of t2. I just get out of the run out chute and 3 guys in my agegroup go blowing by me. That was demoralizing to say the least. I had a hard time getting my heart rate back down and breathing under control at the start. Mentally I checked out on this part. It was cool seeing my son out on the run course and encouraging him along. What would you do differently?: more bricks, well ok even one brick during training would have helped. Post race
Warm down: walked around What limited your ability to perform faster: my run prep. Event comments: 3 Disciplines really showed me some improvement on their attitude and organization this year. They are beginning to win me back a little. Overall this was a good first race back from some physical and emotional issues that have kept me away this year. I saw some improvements and I see room for big gains in my run. Last updated: 2011-08-08 12:00 AM

Hung out and chatted with teammates and friends. Nice to soak the atmosphere up again.
run warmup - ran from race venue back and forth 2 trailer 3 times! Not the best idea in retrospect but was necessary due to logistical issues.
