Run
Comments: Wanted to P.R. 1st (1:53.29), but my A goal was to break 1:50. I was feeling good so i decided to just put the hammer down and run 8:20's or so the whole time. As opposed to my original plan of a negative split. Started off with a 8:19 mile and felt perfect. Kept it the whole way to about mile 6 then dropped a bit to 8:24's. At mile 9 I picked it backup and finished with 8:15's. Was very pleased to keep pace the last 2 miles or so as I was really hurting. Came in at 1:49.32 so pacing was absolutely perfect! I bet there are some pictures of the pain on my face to come! What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Waited for Jim to finish. Weather was perfect so I just hung around and people watched. Event comments: Love this race! Last updated: 2011-08-08 12:00 AM

Picked up Jim. Drove to L.B. It's my 3rd year so I knew the lay of the land. Walked over to the starting area, used the bathrooms and got into the 1st wave corrals. It's a lot of people so it's imperative that I got up front so as to not get caught behind 20,000 people like 2 years ago. Hung out with Jim 'till the start.
