![]() Swim
Comments: this was a great swim for me, since i've not been in the water in about a month or so. What would you do differently?: register earlier, so i'm not crawling over people doing the breast and back stroke. ![]() Transition 1
What would you do differently?: need to practice more transitions, since i've had so long off, i could tell this was a little rusty. also, i would remember my number belt, so i wouldn't have spent about 1 minute trying to work the stinkin safety pins. ![]() Bike
Comments: for the most part, this was a well-controlled course. there were a couple of spots that needed more traffic control, and could have used more marking off of the appropriate route. Overall, though, this was a great course to ride. i think i may have to add this to my training repertoire. ![]() Transition 2
![]() Run
Comments: it's a lot more difficult to run off road. this weaved up and down hills, and through the forest. it was so humid back there, mostly because of the recent storms. i was hurting on this part, i think predominantly from this. ![]() Post race
Warm down: stopped moving. What limited your ability to perform faster: early season, class c race, didn't have any goals going into it, other than to not get injured. Event comments: this was a non-chip timed event, so i don't know how i ranked in each of my splits, but that's cool. this was a class c race anyway. i was talked into this swim by one of the gyn-onc fellows i'm friends with. he is getting read to do the florida half IM in about a month, but thought this would be a fun little race, so he talked me into it.
