Swim
Comments: The water was warm. We started in waves about every 2-3 minutes so the beginning was not too crowded, after the first 20 yards it opened up a lot more. What would you do differently?: Swim faster. Transition 1
Comments: It had started to sprinkle by this point. I was at the back of the transition area so I had a long ways to go to get to the mounting line. What would you do differently?: Move quicker. Bike
Comments: The rain picked up considerably during this portion of the race. Drank two bottles of gatorade and had 2 gels. What would you do differently?: Pedal harder, I was just going with the flow. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Get a running belt for my race bib. Run
Comments: I was pretty fresh for the run, some of the spectators even commented on it. I only drank water at one station. It drizzled the entire time so I kept pretty cool. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Jogged around the lake for a 15 minutes. What limited your ability to perform faster: It was my first triathlon in a while so I held back on the swim and bike portions. I guess I could have pushed myself a little harder and not wasted time sitting around during the transitions. I will wear the heart rate monitoring junk for the next race. Event comments: Great race, can't blame the organizers for the rain. The check-in process was quick and painless. It took hardly any time at all for me to get my markings and timing chip. I would like to thank all of the volunteers for helping out despite the weather. Last updated: 2011-08-10 12:00 AM

Ate a protein bar 3 hours before the race and had a gel 20 minutes before the swim.
Jogged from the check-in at the Senior Center back to my car to get my bike and other equipment.
