Hadn't swam in months, so outcome was ok. Estimated it would take 9:30. Probably went too hard - last couple laps weren't much fun.
What would you do differently?:

Slow down a bit.

Good transition - I tried to do it quickly, unlike 2 years ago, and my time indicated the changed attitude. Given I have laced biking shoes, I'll never be quick at this transition.

Maybe take it a little easier to have better legs for the run.

It was a slog...came very close to walking 3 or 4 blocks in due to dead legs from bike. But persevered and got my lungs back thanks to a downhill segment. Consciously slowed down so I'd be able to make it up the hills on way to finish line. Average pace wasn't as bad as it felt.
What would you do differently?:

Take it easier on bike to make run less arduous.
