Comments:

Used as a training run.
Overcast and insanely humid. They were calling for a day of rain, but it only rained a little during the run. Would have liked more. Felt good, especially considering the beginning of the week and yesterday's hilly ride. Ran up Dry Mill, OAB on the trail and then the trail east to end back in Leesburg.
Running up Dry Mill is tough. Walked the one big hill towards the beginning and then on the climb up to Rt. 9 (on both the out and the back). Took a GU at around mile 6 and drank water the entire run. Craved Gatorade and they finally had very diluted Gatorade at around mile 9. Joints started to get achy around mile 9 or so, but energy was good. Had a good kick at the end.
Overall, happy with how the run went. Course was fun, but challenging. Was absolutely drenched by the end. Glad I registered for the race and used it for a training run...gave me a reason to get up and out of bed to do it and also stick with it to run the full amount.

Event comments:

It's a good, local race. While running up Dry Mill is kinda tough, it's better than just an OAB on the trail. Nice course change.
