Swim
Comments: It was my stongest swim of the season so far and I was very happy with it. I was able to average a 1.40/100 which is ok for me. It is my weakest sport, but I was happy with this swim. I came out of the water in 2nd by 4 minutes...ug. What would you do differently?: I need to get serious about my swim training. Like most of us, I am training to just finish the swim. But if I had swam faster by just 35 seconds-i would have placed 1st in my class. Transition 1
Comments: Best T1 of the year for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: My legs left tired early on the ride. My fitness is good, but I was coming down with a cold I think. I just never felt great on the bike today. I rode a good time, but felt I could have done better. Transition 2
Comments: I hit the dismount line and did my flying dismount and had no problems. Started running with my bike and the front tire turned and the bike crashed into the timing equipment. I was still running a few steps into transition and had to stop and get my bike saying out loud "hey, I need that!" the spectators all laughed. What would you do differently?: Not drop my bike....still had a blazing fast trasnistion for me. Run
Comments: Had what I thought was a slow run even though I averaged a sub 8 minute 10K. I am able to run a 7:30-7:45 10k off the bike and was trying today. But the lack of energy on the bike, followed me into the run. If I had been able to push the run, I could have made up for the swim. While I outran number 1's run and bike time, the 4 minutes I gave away on the swim was just 30 seconds too much. Post race
Warm down: No warm down other than loving on my wife and kids who got to see me race for the first time this year. What limited your ability to perform faster: Getting sick or lack of real consistant training. Event comments: USA does a good job and I will run this one next year. Last updated: 2011-08-15 12:00 AM

Normal 4:00 am wake time followed by the standard BF of bagel PB&J, coffee, water and bananna. I loaded everything in the truck. Did my morning bathroom thing and left the house by 5:00. Was the very first one in transition at 5:15-even before the people where there to tell me to get out of transition because it wasnt open yet.
I got the chance finally to do a quick warm up run, ride and swim. It felt good to warm up properly.
