Total Time = 1h 15m 17s
Overall Rank = 150/964
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 1/43
Pre-race routine:

Coffee and banana right after waking up. Zip Fizz on way to race.
Event warmup:

10 min run, stretching. Swam around a little in the lake.
Swim
  • 07m 59s
  • 586 yards
  • 01m 22s / 100 yards
Comments:

My first lake swim - always done ocean before. Also first swim where everyone doesn't run in together. I like the way the start was organized. They assign start times based on your predicted 100 yard time. Swim was much less crowded than I thought it would be and only bumped a few people. It is much easier to navigate in a lake too. I like lake swim way better than ocean - much less stuff to deal with.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 01m 51s
Comments:

Slower than normal. Had difficult time getting socks on.
Clipped in really well on bike but then first 1/4 or so mile of course was a no pass zone. I was ready to take off but had to wait.
What would you do differently?:

Work on not wearing socks.
Bike
  • 38m 55s
  • 14 miles
  • 21.58 mile/hr
Comments:

Florida girl conquered the hills!
What would you do differently?:

I would love to practice hill work more, especially turning when going down hill without getting scared. Don't really have this option where I live.
Transition 2
  • 01m 20s
Run
  • 25m 15s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

My best run. The hills were a bigger problem for me during the run than they were during the bike but overall very happy with my run. I still think I hold back too much a first and could go faster.
What would you do differently?:

Not take so long to get into pace. My last mile was really fast but I think I had some left in the tank. Could have done whole run faster.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretching, Mix 1, Partner's pizza (best on earth)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing.

Event comments:

I live in FL but came home to PTC to do this tri, which made is especially special and fun, mostly because my parents were there. The race was exceptionally well organized with a great crowd. I will do it again next year.
