Swim
Comments: sort of slow, but I didn't feel tired or sore at all, I was able to pick up my pace at the end, slight calf cramp when I dolphined at the end of the course in the shallows What would you do differently?: I didn't like my start position, I was square in the middle two rows back. I would have liked to have been to the inside further forward. Transition 1
Comments: peelers at this race, but a very long trek to the transition area from the beach Bike
Comments: dropped 1.25 mph on back of the course, and it was more forgiving coming home. 151 hr, and about 165 NP which is about right. I was having problems all day with my stomach. felt sick, couldn't eat comfortably. What would you do differently?: should not have burnt the two or three matched that I did when I was feeling good. I suffered at the end of the bike. Also, road without socks, and sand from the beach put a hurting on my feet. Transition 2
Comments: I saw Kari and the kids waiting for me in transition at the wall, I was pretty spent, tried to put on a smile, but beat up. I took my time getting run gear going. Run
Comments: Went out knowing that I was going to walk jog, started to walk for first mile, when I began to jog, my legs weren't there and I just felt suffering. I decided to focus on the finish line, rarely jogging. Near the end a guy and a golf cart came along and told me that I might be able to finish, but a bus was coming to pluck everyone off of the course before the big storm hit. I started to jog. I did not want to miss the finish line. I was the 2nd to last person to cross. There were approximately 400, dnf, dns in the race. There were still people on the bike course when I started loop two of the run, so a lot of people were pulled off the course. Post race
Warm down: Hurry to the bus to get to the park and ride at gunstock with lightning all around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Event comments: This has the opportunity to be a vacation week after the race, Travel Friday, Race Sunday, vacation and travel Sunday again. A lot of fun things to do in the area, 9 hour drive though-as long as you avoid NYC. Race TSS was 359.9, if .69 / pre-race, tsb +19.6, CTL 51.5 Last updated: 2011-08-23 12:00 AM

Alarm at 4:50, banana, plain bagel, 1.5 Starbcks doubles shots, Race site at 5:45, set up in transition.
Came into race with a TSB +20, didn't workout all week, schedule, mood and other distractions had me messed up and in a funk. My Ctl was around 50, but it started the week around 55. A few easy workout could have maintained that 55 w.out hurting the TSB (+5 would have been fine)
150 to 200 yard of swimming, very light stretching
