Comments: felt fine but I was not fast. Transition 1
Comments: felt very slow in transition and still had the bet time in my age group...... who knows Bike
Comments: felt yesterdays workout in my legs but tried to let it rip. I could have gone much harder up the hills but tried to be somewhat conservative--i know this is an olympic but i was practicing pacing on the hills a little for long course racing. What would you do differently?: go harder up hills Transition 2
Comments: this went really well. second fastest t2 in my age group. 1st fastest was :31. That guy must have sprinted through transition becasue I sure didn't waste any time. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: so, i missed the turn where the olympic guys ran to get in the extra 3.1 miles. it eventually became clear to me that i had done so, especially as i was coming to the finish line with only 3 miles on the garmin. i bypassed the finishers chute and started looking for a race official but none were to be found. i made teh executive decision that running the sprint course twice was going to have to count as the olympic length. transition and finish were not in the same place so after i ran down to the start of the run it had added in an extra 1/2 mile of running. by the garmin i hit 6.2 miles at 41:02 which would have given me the fastest in my ag run time and would have gotten me second place in the ag but not first. i was a little bummed but had a great time and a fabulous race. even with the extra 1/2 mile of running, this was a pr at the olympic distance. What would you do differently?: not miss my turn. my fault for not knowing the course better, but they changed the run course this year and i was slighlty confused. in my defense, i had caught up to the sprint racers and the volunteers directed all of us on to the sprint course. i don't think they realized that olympic athletes were coming through. Post race
Warm down: ran the olympic run again for a total of 6.9 miles, then stretching and waiting around for my beer glass. What limited your ability to perform faster: big workout the day before. missed turn on run. Event comments: one of my favorite races. i will be back next year to do it again.
