Swim

  • 750 meters
  • 01m 46s / 100 meters
Comments:

On second turn was heading a bit to the inside of the buoy and had to cut across sharply to stay on the outside. Passed a number of swimmers in the preceding wave.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. With one exception sighting was pretty good.
Transition 1
  • 03m 7s
Comments:

Miserable T1, had a great deal of trouble getting wetsuit off legs. Almost fell over.

Part of duration is long run from beach (300+ metres)
What would you do differently?:

Might need a different wetsuit.
Bike
  • 38m 44s
  • 20 kms
  • 30.98 km/hr
Comments:

even though I felt I had a good bike, my rank is well below average.

Bike course is excellent. Roads are completely closed for some sections on the course.
What would you do differently?:

Need to train more on the bike
Transition 2
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

Thought I did well but rank is well below average
What would you do differently?:

Not sure.
Run
  • 22m 7s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 25s  min/km
Comments:

Run was far stronger than expected.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Find in-laws, some recovery food and drink.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. Really started training seriously starting in June.

Event comments:

Some apparent volunteer shortages (transition opened late) but not where it really mattered, on the race course.

Definitely an event I'd want to do again at some point in the future.
