Woke up. Heard the pounding of wind and rain. Ate peanut butter and flatbread.
Event warmup:

Got in the pool and swam an easy 100. Shivered in the cold rain of Hurricane Irene.

Crashed into the curb twice while trying to mount. Ugh.

Don't forget the rubber band to keep shoes in correct position. Always keep rubber bands in transition bag.

Brutal ride in the wind. Hurricane Irene had just left the area. Roads extremely wet and slippery on a turn filled bike course.

Go harder. Attack the hills a little harder.

Drank 3 beers. Watched other team mates finish and transition.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training and I needed to push a little harder.

Event comments:

Race started 15 minutes late, but with the Hurricane conditions, and slight delay is understandable. This race has normally has outstanding post race food, but this year it was only ok.
