Got there with about an hour and rode bike to race site to find that i would be standing in line for body makings for about 35 minutes. Rushed to set up stuff then looked for a port o pot. Then did maybe about a 5 minute jog then headed to beach with about 5 minutes till start. did about 2 minutes of swimming and toed line right before start.

Comments:

I think this swim is a little longer than 1/2 mile. got out of water about 17:20 but had beach run to mat by pool
What would you do differently?:

swim intervals. i mostly did 2x5oo or 3x500s just to have the distance to wing it. Not too focused on swimming right now

Comments:

smooth course. Wind wasnt too bad at all. So it was just smooth riding. Got stuck behind a garbage truck for a bit who didnt want to pass a rider in fron of me. Played leap frog with a guy i was with the whole time. Saw Rach on the way in. I got off the bike around 16th overall from the start. But it was a wave start and i was the first wave so go figure. Felt like BG was getting low tword end. Took a couple of Gus

Comments:

this sucked. Just a bad performance but it is exactly what I expected. Ton of recovering from injury this whole year I basically had a couple of miles of trianing under my belt. I would have been estatic with 8:30. I pulled that off the first mile then the next 2 i was holding on to <9 min/miles. At mile 3 I was 26:50. Then the last mile was totally bad with some walking. Mile 4 was 11:07. I was happy to be done and if go to the beach with Rachel and just relax. I think this is my worst run in triathlon history for a sprint ever.
What would you do differently?:

Build a Running base. My hip is hurt from this race and I learned that not easing into miles and pace REALLY does lead to INJURY!
Post race
Warm down:

just ate hung out for a bit with Rachel and drank some beers. Saw Brett, Katie, and Barett. Hit up the beach at Sandpiper
