Swim
Comments: The Swim was an out and back to a boat. The wave was all men under 34 and there were some fast kids on the swim..The lead back dropped me at the turnaround so I cruised back in..took it easy after the turnaround. I think the swim was long...cause I'm not that slow. The weeds were interesting...but not as bad as I thought it was going to be.. What would you do differently?: Not worry about the lead pack.... Transition 1
Comments: Did a lot better than Galena, probably cause I didn't wear a wetsuit. What would you do differently?: Nothing...I was happy Bike
Comments: Here is my weak link, after average 15mph in Galena, I really wanted a better showing on the bike. The ride out to the turnaround was into a head wind that made parts challenging, Gannon blew by me at mile 2/3/4 somewhere in there, he was moving. I picked off a few of the Under 25 riders as they were starting to lose there mojo. I'm not sure if I passed anyone on the bike in my age group of not. The ride back to the lake was quick... What would you do differently?: Stay in the aero position all the way back to town. Transition 2
Comments: Happy with T2...ripped my race number again! Run
Comments: I was playing tag with a 24 year old all through the bike and he pulled away with 2 miles to go on the bike. Felt good to blast past him on the run :) Post race
Warm down: Talked with a couple of Tri club members, ate the food, waited for the group to collect their awards and headed back to Chicago. What limited your ability to perform faster: My weak biking...working on it though Event comments: I'll be back, very well run, with lots of volunteers to keep you on course. It would be nice for them to mow the lake though, lol Last updated: 2006-04-24 12:00 AM

We arrived Friday late afternoon, went to pick up race packet. Drove the course with Geoff,Vince, and Ali...Geoff and Ali are fast bikers and thought the course was going to be fast, especially coming back into town.
Got some sleep at the Super 8 but not much....I hate hotels you hear ever little noise.
Arrived before Transition was open but we went in anyway :) Got set up and at the last minute decided I wanted to start off in the small ring for the climp to the highway...opps, dropped the chain in Transition so off I went for a 10 min spin to get the chain back on the bike. Did the climb out of T1 to see how bad it was going to be...looked worse than it was...
Meet Gannon while waiting to take my 4th or 5th wizz of the morning...lol Nice guy....
