Swim
Comments: Cold water, but I got more used to it. Ranked 130 / 309. Good swim for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing really Transition 1
Comments: Got better at the flying mount as the weekend progressed. Ranked 85 / 309 What would you do differently?: Nothing really Bike
Comments: Ranked 85 / 309. I was not feeling good at all on this first lap. 2 person teams were flying by me and I just didn't feel like I had any energy. At the 1/2 I screamed for Lisa to grab me a Coke. I had a Coke and a Power Bar and felt like a new man. 2nd loop was much better. I felt like I could push and I started passing people again. What would you do differently?: This was a tough course. 3rd day of racing and menatally wasn't up for the bike start. But I got over that at 1/2 way. Transition 2
Comments: Got much better at this. What would you do differently?: Keep practicing Run
Comments: I was able to run this whole race. The water tasted horrible so I stuck to the Heed on the course, which was what I needed anyway. Tough, tough course, 95% on a trail. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Food, massage What limited your ability to perform faster: This was a mental toughness weekend. I wanted to finish all 4 races strong, but knowing that Sunday's 1/2 Iron would be tough. Event comments: I finished 60 / 309 for the 1/2 Iron race, which I am really happy with. I finished # 165 / 309 + which was good for me. #36 out of 72 for my age group Male 24 - 39. Tough weekend, I had a really good 1/2 marathon run, but overall was bittersweet since Lisa had to pull out due to her foot injury. Last updated: 2011-09-03 12:00 AM

Wake up early enough to get down to the start. PB & J Banana, coffee. 3rd race day. Not feeling all that fresh, but I knew I had been holding back to have a good race today (being able to run this hilly, rocky, trail run 1/2 marathon.
Rode down the hill to the start.
