Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5:00 and got all my gear on and ate a light breakfast and got some liquids in me. Met up with my dad and got my bike on the car and headed out.
Event warmup:

Didn't do much just walked around and some light swimming
Swim
  • 10m 27s
  • 586 yards
  • 01m 47s / 100 yards
Comments:

The water was really cloudy, and with the wind the normally glass smooth water was choppy. I wasn't expecting that.
What would you do differently?:

Not much really, best swim yet at this course.
Transition 1
  • 01m 31s
Comments:

It went well.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster I guess.
Bike
  • 28m 57s
  • 10 miles
  • 20.73 mile/hr
Comments:

Love this bike course, and when you feel good about the "Big" hill it hits you feel like you have hit a brick wall climbing this!! But I come back to it every year. I wasn't a big fan of the bottle exchange they did, they set it up as your coming into the turn around so you had to grab it then brake hard to turn around. I couldn't grab one and hold it.
What would you do differently?:

Practice hills and more hills
Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Got off the bike good and ran and raced my bike, but realized I went to the wrong rack. Saw similar bag as what I have and got me confused. Cost me seconds. but got it racked right and got shoes on quickly and was off running.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really beside my stupid mistake.
Run
  • 30m 42s
  • 4 miles
  • 07m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

It was probably my best 4mile run racing and training. I felt great about the run. I felt like I had plenty more at the finished that I wished I used up out on the run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing but run faster
Post race
Warm down:

Drank water and walked around until my dad finshed and got our stuff packed and loaded on the car. Then came back for the BBQ sandwiches!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I felt like I put on a great effort on the course and couldn't ask for more really.

Event comments:

I love this race, was my 3rd year doing it and will do next year.
